Lunch and Evening Meals

From Darsham Old Hall an extensive range of great pubs and fine dining restaurants are within easy reach. We would recommend the following:

Darsham Nurseries

A licenced cafe with a casual, social atmosphere in a light, airy dining room with a small outdoor terrace offering breakfast, lunches and afternoon service and evenings on Fridays and Saturdays, plus occasional Thursdays. They use their own range of vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in the ‘potager’ outside the cafe to create modern fresh meals, veg-led, with a Middle Eastern influence. Voted one of the best garden cafes in the UK. A complimentary cocktail is offered to our guests dining at the nurseries in the evenings – please book through Jude. Tel: 01728 667022

Fox Inn, Darsham

A short walk across the grounds will bring you to the Fox Inn where Brian and Nell are sure to offer you a warm welcome to the local village pub. They offer a range of acclaimed traditional pub food, which can be washed down with well-kept ales, glass of wine or refreshing G&T.  Booking recommended at weekends: 01728 668436

Mains, Yoxford

A family run restaurant situated 1.5 miles from the Old Hall, just off the A12, Mains is open in the evenings from Thursday to Saturday – booking recommended. The menu changes daily and reflects the availability of ingredients from local suppliers. A delightful, cosy restaurant offering an interesting selection of food and wines.  01728 668882

The Ship Inn, Dunwich

The closest coastal point to the Old Hall is Dunwich where the Ship offers a good choice of pub food (usually including fresh fish or seafood) and fine ales & wines. The views along the coastline from Dunwich to Walberswick, Southwold and Minsmere are stunning.  01728 648219

The Anchor, Walberswick

A family-friendly village local as well as gastro-restaurant providing a diverse menu with a very popular specials board and pizza oven. Fine beers and wines are chosen to compliment the menu. The Anchor is a great location to enjoy Walberswick, the most pretty of Suffolk villages.  www.anchoratwalberswick  01502 722112
